Our Company’s Strengths

nakano transportation policyCreating logistics services that satisfy

We consider the party receiving goods from the consigner as our customer too. That’s why we approach our business by first and foremost sharing ideas and plans with the consigner.
We propose the optimal logistic solution to respond to a wide range of customer needs and aim to be a logistics business that adapt to this rapidly changing world.

feature 01

Solutions
that look to the future

Logistics services that take measures after something unexpected happens will result in less efficient performance. To avoid this trap, we examine the demerits of our current logistics operation and create proposals to solve them.
Logistics services have to go through constant change. We believe that the most practical logistics services are the ones where problems are spotted quickly and resolved. We continue to consider the consigner’s point of view as we seek measures to improve our services.

feature 02

Comprehensive storage
and management systems

Today, a diverse range of goods require managing. Industrial and machine products have lot numbers. Food products require expiration dates. Logistics these days require all sorts of management beyond inventory control.
Our company has the capability to strictly and effectively manage products on the systems and operations side. We don’t only rely on mechanized systems; we also make full use of people power to manage with great accuracy.

feature 03

Flexibly respond
to unexpected situations

Logistics has to deal with irregularities. Sometimes, customers place sudden additional orders or require a quick replacement of products, because of order errors. There are many ways irregularities occur in the logistics business. When these occur, our company uses all its might to respond. When an unexpected situation arises, we will work together with the establishment where the situation arose and also with other parts of the business.
Our company’s ability to mobilize and response capabilities keep wasted opportunities from occurring, which is what we call “logistics quality.”

Like a couple or a family
that has been together for years

Kimiaki Kurose
  • Business Center Division Chief
  • Volume Sales Division Sales Manager
  • Nishi Yodogawa Distribution Center Chief
  • Torikai Distribution Center Chief
  • Kokubu Group Corp.

Relationship between Kokubu Group Corp. and Nakano Transportation Inc.

For more than a half century, our company has formed a strong relationship with Nakano Transportation, responding to the more complex logistics environment that has developed during that time. We have a relationship like a long-married couple or family.

The Kurose Center Chief’s View of Nakano Transportation’s Corporate Culture

No matter the troubles or irregularities that arise, the whole company has a strong sense of mission and a robust attitude of “We’ll do what it takes. We’ve got this covered.” I feel the company’s spirit in the people’s warm and friendly attitudes.

A Memory that Made an Impression

Last September, a major typhoon hit. For two and a half days, the area around the distribution center was without power. Our company, Kokubu, dispatched our support team to each distribution center. In the late summer heat, we worked with Nakano Transportation, all of us sweating and using manpower to get the job done. The blackout was supposed to be fixed, but it continued on. I remember vividly how we worked together to overcome the conditions that time. There are other memories, too, of Nakano Transportation working as one with us to overcome obstacles.

Relations between the Companies Going Forward

I would like to continue to have a relationship like a happy married couple into the future.
I want to build trust on all sides, so that in this very difficult logistics environment, we can talk things out, work to overcome the obstacles and in the end, share in our happiness.

Introducing Website Visitors to Nakano Transportation

Dear website visitors, Nakano Transportation is a company with a warm heart and people who feel like family. For example, several times a year they hold a beer party or some sort of social event. I and the Kokubu staff are not Nakano Transportation employees, but at every event, they ask many of us to join them. They’ll invite people in related divisions, young employees and new members and always make us feel like family.

AI and future technologies are no doubt necessary, but in the end, a company is made up of its people. Nakano Transportation is not a large company, but in every aspect, it is a company that values the opinions of customers and employees, and the immediate supervisors understand what the customers and employees want to do and what they’re thinking. They can then communicate quickly with workers on the front lines. They prepare a stage where ideas from customers and employees are put into practice. For those looking to work in an environment with that level of service, make sure to knock on Nakano Transportation’s door.

A partner you can trust
from the bottom of your heart

Tomosuke Nakagawa
  • Kinki Area Branch Office Manager
  • Sapporo Group Logistics Co.

The Relationship between Sapporo Group Logistics and Nakano Transportation

In 1974, before Sapporo Group Logistics, Osaka Sapporo Transportation was formed through a joint investment with Nakano Transportation.
After that, Seibu Sapporo Logistics was formed in 1988, Sapporo Logistics System was formed in 1998, and in 2013, the management planning department was moved to Sapporo Group Logistics.
Our relations with Nakano Transportation extend back more than 45 years – nearly a half century.
The people at our Osaka dealers say that when they see a Nakano Transportation truck go by, they think “Sapporo.” That’s how long the company has been transporting Sapporo Group goods. We’re bonded like kids in a three-legged race.

Branch Manager Nakagawa Offers Thoughts on Nakano Transportation’s Corporate Culture

The image of Nakano Transportation is a company that offers total logistics service, from small to big, from product management to distribution processing.
In the center of commerce, Osaka, known as the kitchen of the world, there are region-specific rules that were put in place in the past that make it impossible to respond to customer needs without a lot of mutual experience and trust.
When delivering a large group’s products, there are of course many special store deliveries, from restaurants to tanks to business-related offices. One must respond to many customer needs and opportunities.
It’s not just about each individual being highly skilled. The administrators are strict about leading and instructing other members. I got the strong impression that there was a sense of friendliness at the workplace.
Our company and Nakano Transportation are not only cooperating companies; I believe the word “partner” best describes our relationship.

A Memorable Episode with Nakano Transportation

We’ve gone through the Great Hanshin Earthquake of January 1995, the closing of the Sapporo Breweries Osaka factory (Ibaraki City) in 2008, the Osaka DC vertical startup, and the temporary demand caused by rising taxes. There was the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011, the 2018 Osaka Earthquake, the heavy rains in western Japan, and Typhoon No. 21. All of these events caused confusion on the logistics sector. In each instance, our company, Sapporo Group Logistics would work with Nakano Transportation until the end to get customers their goods and overcome the troubles. Nakano Transportation always gave it everything they had.
In times of natural disaster or irregularities, we feel a sense of helplessness because we don’t have enough workers to handle the site. But in each instance, Nakano Transportation offered their empathy and strength to execute our ideas. They’ve been a true trustworthy partner throughout.

Relations between the Companies Going Forward

Currently, there are three Nakano Transportation employees on the same floor as our Sapporo Group Logistics Kinki Branch Office. They’ve carried out logistics improvements with our Sapporo Logistics employees.
Their uniforms are a different color, but I am always in touch with those three “outside employees.” The Nakano Transportation crew that comes to the center for loading and unloading can be contacted as if they were our own employees. There is no gap.
In today’s logistics sector, having a long relationship is not enough to move forward. To overcome the many difficult obstacles we face, we have built a relationship that can be trusted at any point and a relationship where we can plan together.

Introducing Website Visitors to Nakano Transportation

It’s a company with more than 60 years of experience in the rapidly changing logistics world.
The most important thing in a company culture in today’s logistics sector is treating your employees well and having a heart, I believe.
We are nearing our 70th year of business, and as we look to the future and our 100th anniversary, I know that Sapporo Group Logistics and I personally, Tomosuke Nakagawa, are of the state of mind that we want to always work together with Nakano Transportation. Their company and their corporate culture make us feel that way. I can’t fully describe what I want to say here, but for those of you visiting this website, I hope you give your business to Nakano Transportation.
